Move the metrics that matter
Six in ten adults carry a chronic condition and it drives about 90 percent of health spending. Learn to make the case for PT in the language of quality measures: falls, readmissions, function, pain, and chronic disease control, all moving together with patient health and cost.
Dose exercise like medicine
Hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity, COPD, asthma, and long COVID, with the ACSM prescription, the safety thresholds, the medications that change how you monitor, and the pacing rules that keep post-exertional malaise patients safe.
Treat the whole person
Screen for depression, suicide risk, sleep, and substance use. Use pain neuroscience education, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing. Counsel on lifestyle within scope, and review every medication list for exercise safety and drug-induced mimics.
About the course
Course 2 built your screening and diagnostic reasoning. Course 3 turns to the work that fills most primary care days: managing chronic disease and preventing the next one. Seven modules move from the chronic disease case and the quality measures PT moves, through the cardiometabolic cluster, pulmonary and respiratory disorders, mental health and pain science, preventive care and lifestyle medicine, and polypharmacy with the deprescribing frameworks, and close with monitoring, outcomes, and health equity. Each module pairs a focused video lecture with a short knowledge check. Plan on about 90 minutes of video plus your own review time. Access is through the BrainSmith Founders Membership, which includes every course in the certificate as it is released.
