About the course

HSS I is the first course in the BrainSmith Health Systems Science series. It looks at how care is organized and paid for. Across six modules you will cover systems thinking, the macro-landscape of U.S. healthcare, scope of practice and advanced practice, the architecture of value-based payment, musculoskeletal care economics and bundled payments, and value-based contracting and the law. Eric Robertson is a co-founder of BrainSmith and a physical therapy educator with nearly two decades on DPT faculty. He teaches at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, serves on the IFOMPT Standards Committee, and hosts the PT Outcast podcast. His work focuses on primary care physical therapy, health systems science, clinical reasoning, and curricular innovation.
